About Me

With a background in managing systems and networks for over 500 small and mid-sized companies, I’ve seen firsthand how real-world security actually works (and how it often doesn’t). From leading ransomware recoveries to designing disaster recovery plans and training IT teams, I specialize in turning chaos into calm and risk into resilience.

I’m the author of Cybersecurity for People Who Don’t Have Time, a straight-talking guide that helps business owners and IT managers cut through the noise and take action where it counts.

Before I was working in IT, I was the kid in the garage building Franken-computers from my dad’s spare parts. That same curiosity still fuels everything I do, whether I’m reverse-engineering a phishing campaign or 3D printing a movie prop in my workshop. I’ve always been wired to take things apart, understand how they work, and build something better.

Over the years, I’ve applied that mindset to cybersecurity, sharpening my skills in both offensive techniques and real-world defense. From late-night labs to all-night ransomware recoveries, I’ve built my expertise through hands-on experience and practical certifications like Security+ and eCPPT.

These days, I’m focused on helping companies that don’t have a full-time security team but are smart enough to know they need one. Whether I’m translating technical issues into plain English or getting hands-on to implement fixes that actually strengthen defenses, I bridge the gap between cybersecurity talk and real-world protection.
